Pay-monthly websites

Pay-monthly websites: a custom site for $0 down

Instead of writing a big check for a website, you pay one flat monthly price that covers the design, the hosting and your changes. Here's how it works, what it costs and who it fits.

What is a pay-monthly website?

A pay-monthly website is a custom site you pay for over time instead of all at once. The monthly price covers building it, hosting it and keeping it current.

With Skosh, there's $0 down. You see your homepage within 24 hours, and your first payment happens at launch, after you've approved the site. From then on it's one flat price each month.

Prefer to own it outright? We do that too: a $2,500 build, then $49 a month for hosting.

Pay monthly vs paying for a build up front

Paying up front means a one-time build fee. After launch you handle hosting and updates yourself, or you pay extra for a maintenance plan. You own the site from day one, which suits people with cash on hand and someone to keep it up.

Paying monthly spreads the cost out and bundles in the upkeep. It suits people who'd rather keep their cash in the business and never think about the website.

We offer both. If you'd rather own it outright, it's a $2,500 build, then $49 a month for hosting.

What's included every month

  • A custom design, hand-coded. Not WordPress, with no page builders or plugins.
  • Fast global hosting, SSL and backups.
  • Your domain, registered in your name. Included on Standard and Plus, at cost on One Page.
  • Changes done for you: 2, 4 or 8 a month, depending on your plan.
  • One Page, $69 a month: one scrolling page and 2 changes a month.
  • Standard, $99 a month, our most popular: up to 5 pages, 4 changes a month, a contact form and analytics.
  • Plus, $149 a month: up to 10 pages, 8 changes a month and a blog.

The 12-month plan, in plain words

Every plan starts with 12 months. That's how $0 down works: we cover the cost of building your site and earn it back over your first year.

Your first payment is at launch, after you approve the site. If you cancel before 12 months, you pay the remaining months. After 12 months it's month to month, and you can cancel anytime.

Your domain is in your name the whole time, and you can transfer it whenever you like. If you want to keep the site itself when you leave, you can buy out the code.

Who a pay-monthly website fits

It fits people who want a real website without a big check, and who never want to log in and update it themselves.

  • New businesses and side hustles that need a site this week
  • Solo professionals who want a credible place to send referrals
  • Local businesses and contractors whose hours, prices and photos change
  • Churches and nonprofits where volunteers come and go
  • Not a fit if you enjoy building and editing your own site. A DIY builder costs less and gives you full control.

Is a pay-monthly website a good idea?

It is if you'd rather not pay for a build up front and don't want to maintain the site yourself. If you like doing it yourself, a DIY builder will cost less.

When do I start paying?

At launch, after you've approved the site. Your homepage preview comes within 24 hours, in two directions, with a short video walkthrough. No call required.

Do I own my website on a monthly plan?

Your domain is registered in your name from day one, and you can transfer it anytime. If you want to keep the site itself, you can buy out the code.

What if I cancel early?

Cancel before 12 months and you pay the remaining months. After that, cancel anytime and take your domain with you.

Is it built on WordPress?

No. Every site is hand-coded, with no page builders or plugins to update. That keeps it fast and leaves very little to break.
